Monte Rosa Therapeutics seeks to recruit a highly motivated research associate in proteomics with drug discovery experience to join its growing proteomics global team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team responsible for the characterization of novel small molecule glue-based degraders to support Monte Rosa’s growing pipeline.
The successful candidate will be responsible for independently conducting own experiments from cell culture, sample preparation, LC-MS acquisition, to data analysis, interpretation, and presentation of the proteomics results. We are looking for a candidate with strong technical and organizational skills, and a strong collaborative spirit.
Perform mass spectrometry/quantitative proteomics experiments with the use of nano LC-MS (Thermo Fisher) and proteomics bioinformatics software
Implement new innovative technologies/methodologies that may enhance proteomic workflows, in particular automation solutions for proteomics sample preparation workflows
Prepare biological samples for proteomics analysis and execute protein biochemical techniques (SDS page, Western blots, BCA, LC peptide fractionations)
Work independently with minimal supervision to design, execute advanced experiments, analyze, interpret and communicate data in project team meetings
Be responsible for lab infrastructure, prepare and maintain laboratory reagents and stocks
• BSc and/or MSc in analytical chemistry, biochemistry or related field
• At least 1 years’ experience in protein mass spectrometry/proteomics in Pharma, Biotech or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with LC-MS instrumentation (Thermo Fisher)
• Experience in culturing mammalian cells and sterile techniques is desirable
• Experience in protein post-translational modification analysis, protein-protein-interaction analysis, and targeted mass spectrometry analysis would be a plus
• Critical and independent thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly motivated, strong scientific curiosity and interest in drug discovery
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to work in a collaborative, matrix team
