Monte Rosa Therapeutics is seeking a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate - Biology to support early target validation in immunology and inflammation, aiding in the advancement of our molecular glue degraders into clinic. The successful candidate will collaborate with team members to design and execute in vitro experiments focused on determining the activity and mechanism of action of compounds. This role requires hands-on laboratory work, conducting a variety of in vitro experiments.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of diverse experimental protocols aimed at evaluating the efficacy and mechanism of action of Molecule Glue Degraders.
• Develop, optimize, and execute in vitro functional assays using primary immune cells to assess cellular responses, cytokine production, and other immunological parameters.
• Support downstream analytical techniques including, but not limited to, flow cytometry, cytokine assays (such as ELISA, MSD, etc) and Western blotting to validate experimental outcomes.
• Perform routine and specialized cell culture procedures using primary cells or cell lines to support in vitro studies. Such work includes isolating specific cell populations from primary cells, cell maintenance, and potential differentiation and stimulation assays.
• Collaborate with in vivo teams to receive and process biological samples for downstream ex vivo analysis. No live animal work is involved
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records of experimental design, protocols, raw data, and analyzed results in accordance with internal documentation standards.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including senior scientists and project managers, to ensure alignment of experimental strategies with project goals.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a closely related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 2 year of relevant hands-on experience in an industrial or biotechnology research setting.
• Proficiency in primary cell isolation and culture techniques.
• Familiarity with standard molecular and cell biology techniques, including flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD, and Western blot.
• Experience with ex vivo assays or whole blood assays preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, with excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Strong communicator and team player equipped with natural curiosity
