Overview

Monte Rosa Therapeutics is searching for a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate - Biology to assist in executing in vivo and in vitro studies in pre-clinical mouse models of inflammation, immunology, and oncology, and assist in pharmacology and translational biology studies to support progression of our molecular glue degraders into the clinic. The role involves interacting with team members to design and execute in vivo/in vitro pharmacology studies aimed at defining the activity and mechanism of action of compounds. This person will work in our Animal Care Facility to perform in vivo studies as well as at the lab bench by performing a variety of ex vivo/in vitro experiments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in design and execution of studies in mouse models of inflammation, oncology, and immunology to evaluate target biology using in vivo, in vitro, and ex vivo approaches.
  • Independently perform in vivo procedures in mice, including compound administration (PO, IP, SC) and blood collection (e.g., submandibular).
  • Prepare and formulate compounds for dosing in vivo.
  • Perform tissue harvests and process time-sensitive biological samples based on study requirements.
  • Conduct evening and weekend dosing and health monitoring in accordance with study protocols, as needed.
  • Support downstream analysis including flow cytometry, MSD, and Western blot.
  • Perform cell culture work to support in vitro studies.
  • Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures and data.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Biology, Pharmacology, Animal Science, or related field with minimum 1 year relevant experience in an industry setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in culturing mammalian cell lines and primary cells.
  • Prior experience necessary in handling compounds for formulation preparation, with a strong emphasis on safety and proficiency in performing necessary calculations.
  • Strong experience in animal handling is preferred, including compound administration by multiple routes, harvesting tissue and blood samples, and performing necropsy techniques. Experience with surgical techniques is a plus.
  • Experience with pharmacodynamics assays of mouse tissue, including Western Blotting or JESS, ELISA/MSD and flow cytometry is preferred.
  • Experience with immune cell isolations and/or immune cell PD/functional assays
