Overview

Monte Rosa Therapeutics is seeking passionate Research Associate, Discovery Technologies to help us to eliminate disease causing proteins through targeted protein degradation–a novel and exciting way of drugging proteins that until recently were considered un-druggable.  The candidates will gain hands-on experience within a particular area of interest in an early-stage drug discovery environment. You will work with an industry leader who will direct and mentor you on your project, as well as expose you to other drug discovery projects and involve you in the process of solving complex biological questions.  You will be joining a diverse, thoughtful, fun and collaborative environment that emphasizes teamwork and putting people first!

If you have an interest in any of the following areas noted below, we will give you hands-on educational experience within a high paced Drug discovery environment.

Responsibilities

  • You will employ various technologies to identify and validate targets of molecular glue degraders within our Early Discovery workflow, a skillset with broad applicability in a range of drug discovery approaches.
  • You will implement approaches for CRISPR/Cas9 KO/KI, flow cytometry/cell sorting, luminescence-based assays, immunoprecipitation/western blotting, and sequencing.
  • You will play a role in the engineering of a degron tool in a target of interest via CRISPR editing of its endogenous locus, and use MGDs to elicit its degradation via the CRBN machinery.
  • You will collaborate with different functions within the company and attend and present your data at team and project meetings.

Qualifications

  • Our preference is for a student currently in a master’s degree program in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a life science field.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong desire to learn the most advanced approaches in drug discovery and targeted protein degradation.
  • Previous experience with mammalian cell culture, molecular biology / biochemical techniques (e.g. Western Blot, DNA extraction, PCR, CRISPR CAS9) and experience in working in a sterile environment (BSL2 standards) are required. Prior experience with handling of lentivirus and sequencing is desirable.
  • You are a fast learner and enjoy working in a team-based environment.
